De Jong has stormed into the public limelight over recent years with his epic and haunting sculptural and installation pieces created out of polyurethane foam, silicone rubber and Styrofoam. The first retrospective survey of his work, presented at the Groninger Museum in Groningen, The Netherlands, provided the occasion to survey a selection of his works, which are also included in this catalogue. Alongside celebrated sculptural pieces and writings the publication includes little known paintings and marker-pen drawings produced over the last few years.
